Hi, I’m Heather DelRosario,

Co-Founder of Soul Full Camp

In the month of June of 2009, I found myself sitting in an emergency room with chest pains.

I knew that something was wrong, the breakneck pace I’d been living my life, something had to give.

When the doctor came in, he told me that every physical ailment I had was attributed to stress.

You’d think that would be enough to move me forward, but it wasn’t. I was told to follow up with my family doctor, and it was that visit that she introduced me to a new term: burnout.

Burnout is thrown around a lot, but as my family doctor would soon educate me, it is a classified medical word with significant health impacts that can be seen mentally, emotionally and physically.

With her help, I connected the dots between mental and emotional burnout and the physical toll it had taken on my body. That moment of awareness was pivotal in my journey, which put me on the path of self-discovery and would introduce me to Brenè Brown’s book, The Gifts of Imperfection.

Reading The Gifts of Imperfection changed my life. It was an awakening moment for me. It gave me the language to understand that how I behaved reflected my past traumas and other people’s expectations, it wasn’t Heather.

Many people think that an awakening happens all at once, but in my experience, it was a series of little moments.

Subtle shifts in awareness that built upon each other led me to look at myself in the mirror, hold my gaze and say to myself, “I’m making the decision that I don’t want to live like this anymore. It was time to find me.”

In the years since that pivotal moment, I’ve uncovered my purpose and have helped hundreds of women create change in their life through Soul Full Camp.

What continues to draw women from across the province (many of them choosing to attend multiple camp experiences per year) is our commitment and dedication to providing a safe, non-judgmental community where you are free to explore and be your authentic self.

The path of healing is different for everyone, but in my experience, there are three key elements:

Awareness. It may begin as a tiny flicker of desire to create change or a what if? Curiosity to rediscover your sense of self.

Letting go. Letting your heart take the lead, allowing yourself to be that little girl again, and reclaiming that sense of wonder and playfulness.

Finding courage. Getting really truthful about how you feel and facing those feelings rather than finding a way to run away from them

At Soul Full Camp, we create opportunities to nourish your mind, body and spirit. Giving you options and tools to support you as you fill your whole heart with awareness, letting go, and finding courage.

Even if this has been going on for a long time, you can create change in your life.

I don’t want you to have to go through what I went through.

It all begins with one small change, one where you commit to reclaiming yourself.
